  Assertive but not overbearing is good for me. If left to my own devices I will fall into debauchery without fail. I need a woman who is strong enough to speak her mind and help keep this old reprobate in line before I sink the ship.

  My Uncle Passed Away a few Hours Ago

  a couple of hours ago when i got home from shopping the telephone rang my son answered it he said, "mom, aunt mary just called and uncle richard just passed away", i was just devasted.

  it isn't sinking in.

  my mind isn't somewhere else.. i believe i mentioned about him in a post a few days ago that he was just diagnosed with pulmanary fibrosis, i am in total shock, as the doctor told him he had about one to three years to live.

  There is a young elder from Southern California that is working from the inside to help doubters to leave. He goes by Olin Moyle JW Elder on Yahoo. Answers. He asked a pointed question and I would like to share it with the group here so anyone who can confirm his claim about pep talks from the platform that told folks 1975 was for real can voice it so new ones can hear from us.

  It might also be a good idea to have a thread started here to document what we oldsters remember about the fervor of the 1970's.

  And UGLY response to a Christmas Card!

  boy..just when i thought things couldnt get weirder in my life...i spent a whole day designing a christmas newsletter with colorful pictures and stories about what my kids and family have been doing, and the election and you know...year end things and greetings, to send out.

  i do this every year.

  this year i had to file bankruptcy in august and decided to email the newsletter to save money.

  Why go where one is not wanted. I have faced this sort of crap from family before. I am usually a very kind and understanding person, but when someone comes off like that and says to EFF-OFF, I Eff WAAAY off. If I were in your shoes I would make paying this sonofabitch off asap priority number one, like within a few months and no later. Pay him with interest. Then keep to yourself when he is concerned. You have never had a face to face with him? Good, you are better off. No reason to spoil a good thing now.

  Your husband is a coward. Treat him like one. If he has no loyalty to you, then why show him any? I would freeze up, go cold fish on hte turd as well. But this one, you should tell him what a lump he is and then cool off. Answer him if he asks something, never let the kids suffer for this, but when alone let him know that he sucks.

  have posted this on the other thread but just making this one as well:

  i need to let you know that dad passed away this morning at 8am.

  he fought so hard but in the end they could not get his blood pressure to rise and he died of heart failure.
